At the Moscow Future Technologies Forum, the creation of materials and technologies for the development of the Arctic was discussed.

At the plenary session of the Future Technologies Forum, held in Moscow from February 20 to 21, the role of advanced materials in the development of the Arctic was discussed. This was reported by Murman State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. Special attention was given to cold-resistant steels, frost-resistant seals, and other innovative developments necessary for operation in extreme conditions. The event was attended by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and representatives of the scientific community. The assistant to the president of the Kurchatov Institute, Vladislav Antipov, shared the achievements of Russian scientists: materials developed at the institute are already being used in the construction of nuclear-powered icebreakers capable of breaking through ice over four meters thick. There is also ongoing development of unique paint coatings and seals that maintain elasticity at temperatures as low as minus 60°C. The head of state supported the scientists' initiative, emphasizing the importance of using artificial intelligence in creating new materials. Vladimir Putin also highlighted the potential of the project for an atomic-powered underwater gas carrier, which will ensure year-round export of liquefied natural gas from Arctic deposits. Discussions on innovative solutions for the Arctic will continue at the 6th International Arctic Forum "Arctic: Territory of Dialogue," which will take place in Murmansk on March 26-27, 2025.
