What will happen to the paintings until it is decided? “We had no intention to offend anyone, to offend these paintings,” assured the first Deputy head of the Duma. One of the paintings hanging in Mukhetdinov’s office is called “The Feast of the Mongolian military leaders of Genghis Khan led by Jube and Subadei after the victory over the united Russian-Polovets army at Kalka on May 31, 1223”. It depicts the Mongols feasting on the bodies of Russian soldiers and shields with banners, including the symbol of the Russian army "Savior Not Made by Hands".
