Deputy of the State Duma Nemkin: scammers have started buying schoolchildren's accounts on social networks.

According to the deputy, scammers may explain their desire to buy an account by its popularity and intention to use it for advertising purposes, but they may also not provide any explanations: upon seeing the presumed amount of the deal, schoolchildren often do not delve into the details and reasons for the offer they have received. Accounts acquired in the future may be used to spread prohibited data in public groups and through mailings. "Another course of action is to involve Russians in criminal activities. <...> The offender contacts a potential victim on social networks and, through psychological pressure, forces them to carry out subversive actions," Nemkin said in a conversation with RIA Novosti. In addition, fraudulent activity may be conducted on behalf of schoolchildren when spreading phishing links, the deputy added. He urged parents to warn their offspring about all possible risks and consequences of certain actions.
