Finnish police have lifted the arrest of the Eagle S tanker, whose crew was suspected of damaging power grid cables in the Baltic Sea. The ship may leave port. Five of the eight crew members were allowed to leave the country.

According to the Central criminal police of Finland, the experts carried out all the necessary measures on the ship. "From the point of view of the investigation, there are no obstacles to the continuation of the vessel's movement from the territorial waters of Finland," the law enforcers explained. Five members of the team were also allowed to leave the country. The exit ban still applies to the remaining three seafarers. Electric grid companies Fingrid and Elering have abandoned plans to impose economic arrest on the tanker. These companies operate the EstLink 2 cable, which runs under the Gulf of Finland between Finland and Estonia. After damage to this section of the power grid and was detained tanker Eagle S. Earlier it was reported that the customs service of Finland did not find grounds to initiate a new case against the crew of the vessel.
