The former mayor of Magas, who is wanted at the federal level, was detained by the police in Grozny in September 2024. The ex-official was arrested. The Magas District Court extended his detention until March 17, but the defense attempted to appeal the ruling. "The appellate instance of the Supreme Court of the republic upheld the ruling without changes. The appellate complaint was dismissed," the statement notes.
