Four servicemen of the 64th Separate Rifle Battalion of the 44th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - Pavel Oleksiuk, Serhiy Horbachenko, Yuriy Andreychenko, and Hryhoriy Lyashenko - have been found guilty under clauses "a" and "b" of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, causing significant property damage or other serious consequences"). It was established that in September 2024, Ukrainian militants illegally invaded the territory of the Russian Federation with the aim of committing a terrorist act. While in the village of Snagost of Korenevsky District in the Kursk Region and armed, they intimidated the local population, occupied private houses, obstructed the evacuation of civilians, repeatedly opened fire to kill Russian military personnel and civilians. "By the court's verdict, Oleksiuk was sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment, serving the first 3 years in prison and the remainder in a strict regime correctional colony. Horbachenko, Andreychenko, and Lyashenko were sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment, serving the first 3 years in prison and the remainder in a strict regime correctional colony," the Investigative Committee's statement said. In the footage published by the agency, the four servicemen fully admitted their guilt and expressed remorse for their actions.
