In Volgograd school, a memorial plaque was unveiled in memory of the soldier Vladislav Plakhov.

"He is my dad. He loves me very much," says Mark, the son of Vladislav Plakhov. The son of a true Defender of the Fatherland. Four-year-old Mark proudly talks about his father. Vladislav Plakhov was born on September 17, 1998. In 2023, he heroically died while on combat duty in a special operation zone. Our fellow countryman was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. November 8 - the day that divided the family's life into before and after. "He called early in the morning, wished me a good morning as always, wished our son a good day. He was on a combat mission, I knew that. He said that after he finishes his duty, he will definitely call us. He didn't call," recalls Vladislav Plakhov's widow, Elina Plakhova. Vladislav Plakhov studied at School No. 49 in the Krasnooktyabrsky district. Here he had a fateful encounter: his future wife Elina was two years younger. In his free time, he was passionate about taekwondo and was a candidate for Master of Sports. After finishing school, he went to Smolensk to enroll in the Marshal Vasilevsky Higher Military Anti-Aircraft Defense Institution. He received his lieutenant's epaulettes, and in 2022, he was assigned to the Kirov region, but he didn't stay there long. In August, he was sent to the territory of Ukraine to participate in a special military operation. "He always dreamed of being a military man because his dad was also in the military. He was always brave, kind, and sensitive. Vlad - he is my pride, he is my soul, he is my pain. Having such a son is simply a blessing! Not every mother has such a son!" says Vladislav Plakhov's mother, Natalya Plakhova. The potential of the future officer was noticed by his teachers. Elena Vasilyevna Ryzhova - the math teacher and class teacher of Vladislav Plakhov. "There was a military bearing in him, discipline. He always treated seniors and his peers attentively. He protected everyone who was weaker. His classmates, girls loved him, so he sat here and everyone's attention was drawn to him," recalls math teacher Elena Ryzhova. The unveiling of the memorial plaque is a tribute to the memory of Vladislav Plakhov. The solemn ceremony gathered relatives, teachers, students, and everyone who personally knew the soldier at the walls of his native school. "A worthy boy, that's why I'm standing here today. It hurts me a lot, as if I lost a loved one," says Volgograd resident Radik Manukyan. Vladislav Plakhov is not the only graduate of the school who gave his life for his Motherland. There is a memorial plaque in the school dedicated to the Order of Courage recipient Alexander Polyanovsky. He died in Afghanistan. It is through the examples of such people that love for the Motherland is instilled in students. The patriotic education is also aided by the exhibition presented in the school's Museum of Military Glory, which tells about the events of the Great Patriotic War. "The museum is a place of attraction that is very important for the kids. And not only for our school students but also for the neighboring kindergarten. They love to come visit us, take tours," says the director of School No. 49, Anna Rogacheva. Part of the exhibition tells about the feat of modern defenders of the Fatherland. There is a hero's desk dedicated to Vitaliy Motrennikov, also a graduate of this school. The students also created the "Book of Immortal Fame, Courage, and Valor." It includes the names of fellow countrymen who showed themselves during the special military operation, as reported by GTRK "Volgograd-TRV".
