Ministry of Natural Resources: in the Russian Federation, the total reserves of 29 types of rare metals reach 658 million tons.

These resources, as reported by the ministry, meet the current needs of the Russian economy and provide long-term perspective. "The total reserves of rare metals (all 29) in Russia currently amount to 658 million tons," TASS was told by the ministry. The Ministry of Natural Resources noted that rare metals include 14 types of minerals and 15 types of rare earth metals. Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the large amount of rare earth metals in Russia creates opportunities for cooperation with the United States, but he emphasized that Russia has its own plans for the development of these strategic resources. In addition, US President Donald Trump previously stated that Russia has goods of interest to the US, including rare earth elements, and expressed readiness to consider the possibility of conducting deals with Russia. He added that major economic deals are already being discussed and emphasized the importance of resolving the situation in Ukraine for further cooperation between the countries.
