Today, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed concern about the sharp deterioration of the situation in Syria. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the ministry, said that large-scale clashes have been observed in the country, especially in the provinces of Latakia and Tartus, where both Syrian forces and armed groups calling themselves local resistance are involved. Maria Zakharova called on all influential Syrian leaders to do everything possible to immediately end the violence and protect civilians.
