Earlier it became known that the Israeli military struck the southern part of Lebanon and eliminated the head of the local branch of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas Muhammad Shahin, who, according to the IDF, was responsible for preparing various terrorist attacks. The regime of Bashar al-Assad ceased to exist on December 8, 2024, after the armed opposition occupied the Syrian capital Damascus. Assad resigned and was granted asylum in Moscow.
