📝 Summary
The exhibition is timed to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.
The fearless fighter will wait for the enemy tank of the end! For the 80th anniversary of the Victory, the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia has prepared an exhibition of posters "Windows of TASS". The art of winning. Last year, 100 samples of Soviet propaganda art were restored at the Grabar Center. Anton Nikolaev will tell you more. The exhibition of posters "Windows of TASS" in the Museum of Modern History of Russia transfers from modernity to the atmosphere of the Great Patriotic War. These bright, flashy posters appeared every day on the streets and squares of Soviet cities and were delivered to the front. They inspired, supported, encouraged fighters and workers of the rear. “Literally two days after the beginning of the war, TASS Director General Yakov Khavinson establishes special editions for the creation of these posters, which carry a very strong emotional charge, intransigence towards the enemy, focus on victory, confidence in this victory,” said Mikhail Gusman, First Deputy General Director of TASS. Hitler, having smelled "fried", in sheep's clothing with a suitcase of "peace proposals" tours Europe. And this is Goebbels, the chief propagandist of the Third Reich, sitting on the Fuehrer's shoulders, and these stencils were distributed throughout the country every day. Twice a day the editorial office received reports from the Soviet Information Bureau on the key events of the day. From two reports, the editorial board selected a plot for a poster. The choice was mainly two people: the head of the editorial office of Denisovsky and the artistic director of Sokolov-Skalya, says Fyodor Kukin, senior researcher at the Museum of Modern History of Russia. “They were transported by plane even to guerrilla units. They were in the shops, they were everywhere. The poster fought, said Vera Panfilova, head of the fine arts department of the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. The Soviet leadership fully understood the importance of the ideological front. All printers and stencil cutters of the TASS Window editorial workshop were awarded medals "For the Defense of Moscow". Even foreigners were forced during the Great Patriotic War to admit that Soviet cartoonists and poets, in conditions when bombs are placed on their heads, created a truly murderous art for the enemy. “This is the most important ideological and agitational front. He also played his part in the Great Victory. The lessons of the past tell us that it is necessary to convey the most important information simply, accessible and understandable, said Ruslan Gagkuev, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Historical Society. “It really works in our time as well. And if it works, we must look to the past for better examples. It seems to me that we have not yet surpassed the art that the exhibition, which opens today, demonstrates to us, explains Roman Karmanov, General Director of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives. The creators of TASS Windows beat the enemy not only with words. This is a mock-up of the Merciless tank. It was built at the expense of Stalin Prize laureates, including artists Kukryniks and poet Sergei Mikhalkov, and sent to the front in May 1942. Today, when there is a special military operation, it is very important to turn to history, and to those examples of mobilizing art, which are the "Windows of TASS". A weapon that was feared in the Reich. Suffice it to say that Hitler declared everyone who worked on the TASS Windows his personal enemies, exclaims Irina Velikanova, director general of the Museum of Contemporary Russian History. In this photo, the famous Kukryniks, whom Hitler considered his personal enemies, pose against the ruins of the Reichstag. "Windows TASS" came out throughout the Great Patriotic War. One of the last posters did not brand the enemy or inspire the feat. It simply depicted the "Order of Victory".
