According to TASS research, as of January 1, 2025, the volume of debt on loans to banks in Russia amounted to 34.9 trillion rubles, showing an increase of 5.5% over the past 12 months. At the same time, the minimum debt burden of citizens is observed in the regions of the North Caucasus and the South of Russia. The first place in this indicator is occupied by Ingushetia, where the ratio of per capita bank debt to annual wages is 15.5%. In second place, the Republic of Crimea with an indicator of 30.4%, third place in Dagestan – 30.5%, fourth in Sevastopol – 31%, closes the top five of Chechnya, where the ratio of wages and debt is also 31%. The highest level of debt in Tuva is 151.6%. In second place is Kalmykia – 123.3%. Also in the top five are Adygea, Udmurtia and Tyumen region, where the ratio of wages and debt slightly exceeds 80%. The average amount of debt on bank loans per economically active resident of the Russian Federation is 459 thousand rubles. By absolute indicator, Tuva is in the lead - a little more than 1 million rubles. The second place belongs to the residents of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug with an indicator of 843 thousand rubles. In the third, fourth and fifth places the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra and the Tyumen region. The debt level there is 780, 708 and 694 thousand rubles, respectively.
