📝 Summary

Scammers stole around 350,000 rubles from a minor resident of Moscow under the pretext of returning a damaged item from a marketplace and declaring money. Law enforcement authorities have started an investigation into the incident.

According to RIA Novosti, an unknown person called a 17-year-old girl and pretended to be an employee of a pick-up point, convincing her that the item she had ordered was damaged and she needed to process a return. To do this, she was instructed to provide the numbers of the code sent to her phone. After following the instructions, the girl received a message stating that her account on the Gosuslugi website had been hacked and she needed to contact portal employees. Subsequently, the scammers began to intimidate their victim with messages claiming that a citizen of Ukraine had allegedly issued a power of attorney through the hacked account, prompting her to protect her funds by "declaring" them. As a result, the girl collected over 356,000 rubles and handed it to a courier, after which she informed her mother about everything.
