In a post-match interview, Mourinho criticized the opponent's bench for their behavior, stating that they "jumped like monkeys." In a statement titled "Say No to Racism," Galatasaray clarifies that Mourinho, since his appointment as coach of Fenerbahçe, has regularly made derogatory statements about the Turkish people. "Now his behavior has crossed the line from immoral comments to inhumane rhetoric," the club's statement said. Galatasaray emphasized that they intend to take all necessary steps to bring criminal charges against Mourinho. Additionally, the club will file official complaints with UEFA and FIFA. It is worth noting that loud scandals in Turkish football no longer surprise anyone. For example, last year fans of Trabzonspor attacked Fenerbahçe players immediately after a match. Earlier, the president of Ankaragücü, Faruk Koç, ran onto the field after a country championship game against Rizespor and struck the referee several times. Following this incident, the official resigned, and the local football federation postponed all games in the country for several days. Another scandal occurred during the confrontation between Istanbulspor and Trabzonspor. The match was not completed because the president of the Istanbul team expressed dissatisfaction with the referees' work in a very unusual way - he simply led all the players off the field.
