In the Tver region, the objectives for the implementation of the new national project "Family" until 2030 have been determined.

"The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, emphasized that the family should play a central role in state policy. The main task of our work in this direction is to create conditions for parents to strive to have as many children as possible," said Igor Rudenya. "For the Tver region, solving demographic issues is not just an unconditional priority. It is a vector that will determine the future development of our territory. It is important for young people to start families and, when deciding to have children, to stay and live in their region." Since the implementation of the national project "Demography" in the Tver region, the number of large families has increased by more than 43%, to 16,256. The number of children being raised in large families has also increased by 44%. If in 2019 there were 37,229 of them, by the beginning of 2025, there were 53,675. To increase birth rates in the region, a comprehensive system of support for families with children is in place, which currently includes about 60 federal and regional measures. During the implementation of the national project "Demography," over 98,000 families received free school uniform sets, more than 44,000 gift sets for newborns were distributed, over 12,200 families became recipients of monthly payments for the birth of a third and subsequent children, and 8,227 families received regional maternity capital. 1,059 families received regional support for mortgage repayment, and 280 families received support for purchasing a car. Contests where families can showcase themselves, receive support, and recognition are highly popular. The social contract, whose funds can be directed, including towards developing their own household, is in demand. Necessary infrastructure for raising children is being created. Modern kindergartens have been opened in Tver, Vyshny Volochyok, Kalininsk, Likhoslavl, Maksatikhino, and other districts. The new national project "Family" includes five regional projects: "Family Support," "Large Family," "Family Values and Infrastructure for Culture," "Maternity and Childhood Protection," and "Elderly Generation." Among the key goals of their implementation are increasing birth rates, providing citizens with housing, creating family-oriented infrastructure, medical and social support, and promoting large families. The Governor emphasized that during the implementation of the new national project, it is important to develop an effective system of family support while maintaining existing demographic measures. According to the regional head, not only direct payments and compensations are necessary, but also support in solving everyday, essential issues for people, creating comfortable conditions for raising and educating children, expanding opportunities for sports activities, cultural leisure, preserving the health of children and parents, and developing the necessary infrastructure in municipalities. Igor Rudenya noted the importance of educating the younger generation in traditional values. It is essential to provide not only general education but also to ensure conditions for the professional self-determination of children from an early age, encourage them to stay and work in their own region. The Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) is ready to provide support in solving demographic issues in the Upper Volga region. Grigory Sayfullin, a member of the State Council Commission of the Russian Federation on the direction of "Family," deputy director of the "Social Projects" department, and director of the family and demography division at ASI, highlighted the high potential of the Tver region in developing a system of family support. In February, a project-analytical session was held in Tver with the participation of ASI. As a result, about 50 initiatives in demography were developed.
