Rosstandart has published a GOST with new road signs.

According to the document, a new series of "Deaf" signs will be introduced, and the parking lot may indicate the method of parking the car. In addition, the "speed bump" will indicate the speed at which you need to slow down. "More than 1.4 thousand proposals and comments on the current versions of the standards received from various scientific and operational organizations have been analyzed," the newspaper writes, citing the Moscow Traffic Organization Center (TsODD). In Moscow, the new standard will allow the dismantling of more than 55 thousand signs, while in the Moscow region, it is believed that the number of signs on regional roads is already optimized. In Crimea, on the other hand, it was reported that they are currently studying the new state standard. TsODD also clarified that a large number of signs leads to a decrease in drivers' attention. The traffic coordinator of the "Blue Buckets" movement, Petr Shkumatov, also agreed that the number of signs is too large and sometimes confuses drivers. However, he also warned that caution should be exercised with optimization to avoid further confusion. "For example, if the stop line is erased or covered with snow, and there is no duplicate sign. It cannot be ruled out that the driver in this case will unintentionally violate the rules and receive a fine. This should not happen," writes "Kommersant," citing Shkumatov. Additionally, "Kommersant" specified that several signs will be combined on one plate. For example, "Recommended speed limit" can be placed on a sign with the indication of "Speed bump," and "Parking" - together with the image of "Method of parking a vehicle." In turn, the "Stop line" sign is planned to be made vertical. Along the roads, unnecessary information can be covered with a red magnetic tape. New road signs have already been installed in Tomsk. The decision was made after the mayor of Tomsk, Dmitry Mahin, instructed to strengthen control over the organization of traffic during seasonal work.
