In addition, it is assumed that the obligation to provide free transportation for pregnant women will be imposed on Russian regions, which will help reduce the financial burden on large and low-income families. Free transportation will be provided based on a certificate from a medical institution where the woman is registered for pregnancy. The financial and economic justification of the bill stated that the implementation of this initiative will require additional expenses from the federal budget to compensate for the expenses of regional budgets. Earlier, it was reported that deputies of the State Duma from the "Fair Russia - For the Truth" faction intend to introduce a bill that will allow women to go on maternity leave at any stage of pregnancy. The explanatory note to the document indicates that a woman will be able to take maternity leave from the moment she is registered at the women's consultation center. Currently, maternity leave is most often granted to women from the 30th week of pregnancy, while the recommended time for registration is up to 12 weeks.
