Volodin: The State Duma has passed a law to improve the quality of medical care.

He added that healthcare system employees need to constantly improve their qualifications and learn new technologies. Future medical workers should receive education in organizations that have certified teachers and the necessary clinical base for practical training. "The law prohibits the use of electronic and distance learning in the implementation of professional programs in medical and pharmaceutical education, except in cases defined by federal standards," Volodin wrote. Furthermore, only the Ministry of Health will be authorized to develop and approve additional professional medical education programs, and educational institutions must obtain approval from Roszdravnadzor regarding the availability of appropriate staffing and material-technical support. Additionally, the document states that additional professional medical education must be licensed. In conclusion, Volodin added that the State Duma has sent a proposal to the government to determine the methods and extent of using distance learning and practical training for specific medical and pharmaceutical specialties. Earlier, the lower house of parliament proposed to make public transportation free for pregnant women.
