Volodin told about proposals that will force scooters to comply with traffic rules

Volodin recalled that in his Telegram-channel conducted a survey concerning electric scooters. 54% of respondents supported their complete ban, 41% - for stricter traffic rules (SDA). The speaker of the State Duma noted that it is necessary to find the optimal solution that will protect citizens. He also shared statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, according to which 44 people, including 6 children, died in an accident with SIM in the first nine months of last year. In addition, Volodin told about the relevant initiatives of the IC of the Russian Federation, received in the state Duma. They will equate electric scooters to vehicles, and their users to drivers who are obliged to comply with the rules of the road. Thus, it is proposed to include SIM with a capacity of up to 0.25 kW in the subcategory of vehicles “M1”, and with a capacity of 0.25 to 4 kW and more than 4 kW in the category “M” (mopeds) and “A” (motorcycles) respectively. Only citizens over 16 years old will be able to drive vehicles of subcategory M1. In conclusion, Volodin asked his subscribers to share their views on the above proposals.
