The Moldovan opposition intends to achieve the resignation of President Maia Sandu and the holding of early presidential and parliamentary elections in the country, said the leader of the Socialist Party of Moldova and former President Igor Dodon.
About 4,000 people gathered near the presidential administration building and demanded the resignation of the government. βWe do not recognize the legitimacy of the current government and will use all legal methods to get Sandu to resign and initiate early elections. Under her rule, the constitution was violated, elections were falsified, peopleβs living standards significantly decreased, Dodon told RIA Novosti. The politician added that βmany times moreβ people would come to the next protest. Earlier, the Prosecutorβs office detained in Chisinau brother Igor Dodon Alexander, he is accused of illegal enrichment. Igor Dodon, commenting on the arrest of his brother, said that this is a continuation of the repression of the current authorities of the republic against his family.
