It is noted that the factory "Michaello", which produces fruits and nuts in chocolate, increased selling prices by 5-10%. Sweet Sloboda, engaged in the production of cookies, raised the cost of products by 6-15%. Factory "Neva", engaged in the production of marshmallows, pastiles and marmalade, did not provide accurate information on the increase in cost, but indicated to retailers the increase in the cost of apple puree (96% last year), peanuts (50%), raisins (35%), as well as cocoa powder, cocoa butter, flavors and other ingredients. Some chocolate manufacturers plan to offset the costs by reducing the size of the package. The weight of individual products under the brands "Alenka", "Inspiration" and "Babayevsky" may decrease by a third, the authors of the publication emphasize with reference to the presentation of the manufacturer for retailers. Packages of chocolate weighing 200 grams can change to 180 and 150, 100 grams to 90 and so on. The average weight of tiles can decrease by 10-33%. The growth of selling prices for confectionery products remains restrained, despite significant inflationary pressures, said Alexei Popovichev, executive director of the Rusbrand Association. In his opinion, this is due to high competition and the desire of manufacturers not to lose consumers. The increase in prices will not affect sales, the expert believes. Earlier it became known that sales of chocolate in 2024 decreased by almost 9% due to rising prices, although in monetary terms sales increased by 8.3%. A 10% increase in prices for confectionery products may also occur due to the planned introduction of labeling on products, the Association of Confectionery Industry Enterprises (ASCOND) reported.
