Since the beginning of spring, a law has come into force that changes the rules for paying time off. Federal Law No. 339-FZ is available on the portal of legal acts.
Now, in the case of dismissal, the employer is obliged to pay the employee compensation for unused time off. The employee must receive the difference between the increased and already accrued payment. Also, under the new law, an employee has the right to use his time off during the year, including by adding him to the vacation, RBC reported. The law on time off was adopted in September 2024. The authors of the initiative justified the need for amendments to the Labor Code by the fact that the legislation does not directly regulate the mechanism for determining the date of an additional day of rest and the issue of monetary compensation for dismissal. This leads to the fact that the employee in the event of dismissal is deprived of both time off and increased pay.
