Taimyr celebrates International Mother Language Day

Finding a more professional connoisseur of Nenets culture is difficult. The younger the generation, the greater the language gap. There is also such a thing that the youth of indigenous ethnic groups are ashamed to speak their language. This trend comes from the Soviet era. When the Tundroviki sent their children to the city for education, they were taught to speak Russian, and their native language was forgotten. Moreover, the children were no longer given ethnic names. They will be laughed at in schools. Raisa Yaptune, honored worker of Taimyr, connoisseur of Nenets culture: Pehedom is the name of my father. This is essentially an upgrade to an old allowance that is over 40 years old. And in the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore, cartoons based on Pushkin’s fairy tales on Dolgan and Nenets languages were voiced. In Taimyr, each nation has its own primer, many books in national languages. For example, Anna Alekseevna Barbolina translated the Gospel for children into Dolgan. But "Fly-Tsokotukha" spoke in the language of the Khantai Evenks. This is a small ethnic group living only in the territory of Taimyr. It appeared hundreds of years ago during the migration of nomads from Evenkia to the territory of the Putorana plateau. The adverb is its own, northern, with a characteristic "gackany". The author of the translation is Tatiana Bolina-Ukocher. She herself writes books and manuals on the study of a rare dialect. The idea to translate the fairy tale of Korney Chukovsky came to her a long time ago. The work was easy, although it was not without borrowed words. Language, as is known, forms a habitat in which northern ethnic groups have neither samovar nor honey. And, of course, we will continue to carry our native language so that our children can speak their own language.” The smallest indigenous peoples in Taimyr are Nganasans, Evenki, Entsov in general about 200 people. Speakers of languages and even fewer, connoisseurs - count on the fingers. Nentsev on the peninsula lives more than three thousand people, in total in Russia - almost 50 thousand. Their cultural ties are much stronger. And the youngest of the CMS are the Dolgans. This Turkic group is developing rapidly. 100 years ago there were several hundred of them, now about 8 thousand people. There are positive trends, which means that all is not lost for endangered crops.
