📝 Summary

Today marks three years since the start of the special military operation. President Vladimir Putin announced this historic decision on February 24, 2022. For eight long years, the residents of Donbass endured shelling, provocations, and terrorist attacks by the Kiev authorities. The goals of the operation were the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. From the very first day, Russian fighters supported and continue to support this cause behind the lines. The entire country, all its regions, rallied around this common goal.

Three years, over 1000 days and nights, our fighters, participants of a special military operation, are approaching victory. Sons of the Fatherland from all over the country are pushing the front line closer to Kyiv. Successes on the battlefields are confirmed at the General Staff. The year 2024 has become a turning point in the Eastern Military District. Our units have liberated almost 4.5 thousand square kilometers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Volgograd region, its residents, along with the whole country, are contributing to the common cause. Entire volunteer battalions, such as the "Immortal Stalingrad," have stood up to defend the Motherland. Many residents of Volgograd have been awarded orders and medals, the highest state award - the title of "Hero of Russia" - during the three years of the special operation. In anticipation of Defender of the Fatherland Day, our fellow countryman Alexander Nilov received the "Golden Star" from Defense Minister Andrey Belousov. "This award is not mine, it is the award of my unit, my formation. On this star, there are five rays, representing the five combined-arms regiments of my division. The center is the artillery regiment of my division, and I am just a number," says tank division commander Alexander Nilov. The word "we" instead of "I." The entire multinational people of our country have rallied around one goal. For Russia, the conflict in Ukraine is a matter of existence, independence, and sovereignty, so day and night, sewing machines are running in the rear, humanitarian aid is being organized. There is no fatigue, say the volunteers. When you realize that a camouflage net can save lives, and a trench candle can provide warmth in the cold, it gives strength. "The whole country must stand up to defend our Motherland. They are fighting for us there, so how can we stand aside? Of course, we will help them," explains Galina Kotelnikova, coordinator of the volunteer squad "Griffins of Goodness." For the past two years, fighters have been assisted by the "For Victory!" Foundation, established in the region to support military personnel and volunteers in the Eastern Military District. The humanitarian convoys include all the essentials, including powerful and versatile motor vehicles: ATVs and motorcycles. Snow, sand, or mud - these machines fear nothing. The Volgograd region has provided necessary assistance to those who were forced to leave their homes. Refugees from Novorossiya have found a second home in the city on the Volga. But even where shells were exploding not long ago, our region is restoring peaceful life. Our construction team has been successfully completing assigned tasks in the Stanichno-Luhansk district of the LNR for several years, rebuilding social facilities, communal infrastructure, roads, and more. "During our work, we have completed about 30 projects. This year, we have one project, the Stanichno-Luhansk Cultural Center. It should become the center of cultural and creative life in the district. We have developed a modern concept, gathered the best practices from Russia and our region. We plan to complete this project by May 1," said the head of the construction company, Alexey Tsukanov. The pace of development of the healthcare system in the supervised territory is also impressive. Our doctors have repeatedly traveled to the LNR. Among the priority areas of work is improving the accessibility and quality of medical care for the participants of the special operation. It is important to consider those who have been injured on the battlefields. The decision to build a multi-profile Support Center for participants of the special operation in the region becomes extremely important. Its construction will begin this year - 6 floors, an area of 13 thousand square meters. The project at the foot of Mamayev Kurgan will meet the most modern standards and will be equipped with advanced rehabilitation facilities. Another important direction is the involvement of veterans of the special operation in solving state tasks. For this purpose, the "Stalingrad Call" project was created. Its task is to adapt and develop the management skills of the participants of the Eastern Military District. "Russia's strength is largely ensured by historical memory, where the Volgograd region, the memory of Stalingrad, and the infrastructure actions being taken, starting from the Eastern Military District center, 'Stalingrad Call,' and the interaction with our warriors. That is, the accumulation of experience and its transfer to the youth permeates everything. I believe that this is a serious guarantee not only of the inevitable victory but also of our successful future civil life," says Anton Lukash, a member of the Public Council of the "Stalingrad Call" project, co-chair of the regional headquarters of the People's Front in the Volgograd region. Today, Russia continues to resist on all fronts - from military to informational. It is important that the events happening right now are already reflected in history textbooks. The position of our country, what provoked the conflict, unprecedented sanctions, and how Russia, despite external pressure, continues to develop. "They are written in a bright academic, yet emotionally artistic language. There are phrases that touch the soul. History allows us to build our future, be proud of the past, and successfully develop in the future," notes Anton Lukash. And, of course, the names of our Heroes, those who have brought and continue to bring Victory closer, those who did not stand aside and stood up to defend the Motherland, are now known to students in all Russian schools, as reported by GTRK "Volgograd-TRV".
