📝 Summary

General Director of the Russian Environmental Operator Denis Butsaev in an interview with the TV channel “Russia 24” said that the problem with the load on the rear axle of garbage trucks has a long history and was known back in 2019.

The general director of REO noted that different categories of roads have different restrictions on permissible load, which leads to frequent violations. “We have different restrictions on the permissible load on the rear axle on different road categories. There are 6, 10 and 11.5 tons of road with maximum load. Most garbage trucks fall into the risk zone, especially if they are fully loaded and equipped with a system of filling waste, Butsaev said. According to him, to solve this problem, it is necessary to develop a set of measures, including replacing the old rolling stock with a new one and creating a new chassis that will relieve problems with the load on the rear axle. Butsaev said that at the initiative of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, a three-year moratorium on fines for garbage trucks was introduced in order to provide an opportunity to replace rolling stock and develop a new chassis. Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Alexander Kogan said that the design of the garbage truck, which will be developed by the Belarusian MAZ and the Russian KAMAZ, will be a breakthrough not only in Russia but also in other countries.
